本會經創會會長顧炳星教授及榮譽會長鄭翼翔教授兩位的多年領導,奠下良好基礎,使會員們創作不斷,會中常討論書畫作品,中西畫論,藝術的跨領域思維等。
本會特色在於不僅限中西文化之交流,且為不同領域之跨越,含八大藝術之建築、科技、音樂、工藝、戲劇、剪紙、生物、數位等多種類的異域融合和相互衝擊。
自古以來,藝術一直都在表現當時的人類文明,而人類自萬古洪荒迄今的漫漫長路中可見到近五千年的文化快速進步和累積,像今日所見到的各項珍貴國寶文物即是。而晚近300年內,更呈現等比曲線式地向上竄升,這表示想法更錯綜複雜,資料爆炸式增加,尤其使用電腦協助,速度更驚人。是以,繪畫也必將變化多端,如中西合璧的、感性與理性交織的、平面與多度空間的呈現、外太空虛無的各種奇想、眼視、耳聽、鼻嗅、手觸等等一起來的都能發生交錯呈現,勢必更多元且有新的融合及成果。此在目前的日常接觸中的永續都市及智慧建築發展最易感受得到。目前本會會員雖年紀較長,但均為各學業界專精之士,且各有專業的堅持但藉由相互融合衝擊,如史家所說的〝世異變、成功大〞,勢將會有新構想產生,假以時日必將會有更多新構想、新創作之表現出來,這也是與一般畫會不同,目前在作品中已可見到一些與一般傳統想法迥異之處。
經典大師也是國寶級名畫家劉文煒教授多年前即曾指出,國內目前畫壇上常見以競賽為主導之藝術價值觀,使得在畫展競賽時常於畫面上採用朱紅(最高彩度)白(最高明度)黑(最低明度)三色為作畫基底,用最搶眼方式呈現現代畫風貌博得注意,而容易在競賽中入選獲得名次,這僅是較粗淺的型式之一,藝術應是多樣性、文化性及生活化的,而表現因人而異的個人風格特質才顯得珍貴。
其實人類文化產生且係由思想、生活乃至工藝、科技等綜合形成,藝術作品複雜性代表當代的人類活動反應。晚近的電影動畫、裝置藝術及空照等拜科技之變化而盛行即為一例。因此本會冀望漸漸地在創作領域上有些新的突破和表達方式,尚有待努力去追尋。
本會平均約每年有一次創作聯展,民國88年9月首展於台北市和平東路國立臺灣師範大學藝術中心,此後每年聯展均在國內外知名大學藝術中心及公私立藝術機構、社教機構之藝廊展出。除聯展外,亦常共同參與會外畫展及其他文藝活動,包括參觀展覽及兩岸交流等。
畫會為創會即將邁入20年,已確定將於國立台灣藝術教育館及台北市藝文推廣處(社教館)聯展,特印製專輯以為紀念,並藉以推廣美育,並望藝術界先進能交流指導。
感謝鄭榮譽會長賜序以及勉勵的話,本會當更戮力以赴,也希望顧創會會長能早日康復,期使往日情懷再現。本次畫集編排係由同仁鍾易宏,柯又豪兩位工程師工作之餘,費時耗神幫助彙編,始克如期完成,於此一併致謝。

Our association, led by the Founder and former Chairperson of Professor Bing-Xing Gu and the Honorary Chair Professor Yi-Xiang Zheng, has established with a good foundation that motivates members to constantly create artworks and frequently discuss artworks of calligraphy and painting, Chinese and western art theory as well as crossover thinking of art.
The features of our association are not limited to the cultural exchanges between Chinese and the west, the multiple crossover aspects of 8 major arts integration and mutual impacts from different areas including in architecture, technology, music, craft, drama, cutting paper, biology and digital are also involved.
Since ancient times, art has been demonstrating contemporary human civilization when it is made. From ancient times until now, people can see rapid cultural advancement and accumulation over a period of 5000 years, such as the individual national treasures and artifacts we see today.
Furthermore, in the past 300 years, the speed has shown an upward rise in the equal ratio, which means the thought behind the art has become more complex along with the increasingly explosive amount of information, especially with computer assistance increasing surprising speed. Consequently, paintings will become more diverse, such as the form of the fusion of Chinese and Western art, crossing between sentiment and conscience, and demonstrating the spaces of planes and multiple dimensions as well as the diverse imagination of infinite outer space and the senses of eyesight, hearing, smelling and touch. What comes together will appear complex fusions of art and with multiplying achievements. It’s easy to feel the situation in the contact of sustainable urban and intellectual development of architecture in daily life. At present, although the members of our association are elderly people, all of them are experts in their own respective academic fields and with their own professional insistence. Therefore, through mutual fusion and impacts, new ideas will surely arise, much like the quote by a historian “being more progressive with times, the better the successes it will become”. Soon, more new concepts and new creations will arise. That’s also something distinctive in our association, the current artworks show completely different elements from traditional forms.
Professor Wen-Wei Liu, a great and famous master of art, who was declared a national treasure several years ago, stated that it’s easy to see a competitive view of art leading the current painting world and that the three colors of vermillion (highest brightness), white (highest brightness) and black (lowest brightness) are adopted frequently as the base in the artwork for competitions. The spotlights on those three colors catch the most attention in modern paintings. However, that actually makes art quite shallow; instead, art should be versatile, culturally based, relevant to life, and provide a valuable personal style is expressed.
Generally speaking, human culture is generated through the integration of thinking and life as well as craft and technology; and, the complexity shown in artworks demonstrates the reflection of contemporary people’s activities. Recently, some creation becomes popular as a result of the advancement in technology, like animation movies, installation art and aerial snapshot images are the evidence. Therefore, our association hopes to progressively find new breakthroughs and ways of expression in the creative field with more efforts.
There is at least one annual joint creativity exhibition held every year by our association. In September 1999, a debut exhibition at the Art Center of National Taiwan Normal University on Hoping East Road in Taipei City. Afterward, the annual joint exhibition takes place at art centers of famous universities nationwide and worldwide as well as a public and private art institution and the art gallery of social education institutions. In addition to joint exhibitions, the activity of jointly visiting exhibitions held by other associations and other art activities including exhibition visits and cultural exchanges on both sides.
Our Calligraphers’ Association has been established 20 years until now, and a confirmed joint exhibition with National Taiwan Arts Education Center and Taipei City Arts Promotion Office (social education center), and we publish an exhibition album as a commemoration and as a means of promoting art education. It’s hoped that art pioneers in the art world circle will exchange their comments for further improvement.
It’s appreciated for Honorary Chair Professor Yi-Xiang Zheng’s preface and encouragements, out association will be more devoted to the future, and it hoped that the Founder and the Former Chairperson Gu will get well soon and the nostalgia scene will reappear. This exhibition album is edited by two engineers, my colleagues Zhong Yi-hong, Ke You-hao. I’d like to take this opportunity to express my appreciation for them spending their spare time is dedicated to the completion of this album on schedule.

時光荏苒藝友書畫會已十九年歲了,憶起參與書畫會活動一事,是在張教授(德文)接任師大美術學系主任那時,張公(德文)指定我幫忙畫會,於是我就參加了文興畫會,而藝友書畫會是師大學弟顧炳星教授邀約……這是我參加過的兩個畫會,也只有這兩個畫會。
藝友書畫會之組成,緣起於民國六十幾年間,台北市政府有倡導員工休閒活動之成立書畫班組織,歡迎有興趣的員工同仁參與活動,並委請臺灣師範大學美術系主任張德文教授協助指導,其後有顧炳星主任及本人參與。後來因休閒活動型式改變,不再有書畫班,才由當時任師大美術系所的顧主任、本人、何志強及張時蒲、練福星等共組藝友書畫會。
畫會活動定為每月至少一次聚會,每年至少展出一次。第一次展出即在臺灣師範大學藝術中心(綜合大樓九樓),每人展出作品四至十幅,是一次非常成功的展出……。其後第二次展出有洪雲龍老師及其後陳秀雄教授之加入,民國101年應上古藝術館之邀做為期兩週展出,名為竹林七賢展,加入王仲孚院長、張知新教授、李適中教授。其後並擴大展出及與大陸交流等,後再加入李福臻主任及楊松壽老師。在大陸展出多次,很受歡迎。那年原已預定五月,由顧主任夫人王非非女士聯繫的美國紐約展,但因顧老師身體健康欠佳而取消,改為年底在師大圖書館展出,展出又增加林素禎女士。本人承顧主任交辦擔任會長多年,也辦過多次國內外展覽,本屆交由練會長接續,練會長是我所遇過少數極有創造力的畫家之一,他有建築師的背景,青年時即已在畫界知名。加上本會有何副會長志強兄協助,他是師大以前同事,為畫荷名家且工作努力,對畫會貢獻很大,他府上也是我們最常聚會的地點,期望他們繼續努力,使畫會能百尺竿頭,更進一步,使團隊能更上層樓,達到更高的藝術境界。
藝友書畫會旨在推展社會美育,至祈藝壇先進不吝指教為感。
前談記憶,茲為之序

The Calligraphers’ Association was established 19 years ago; time passes so quickly. I recall my participation in my first activity held by the Calligraphers’ Association was at the time when Professor Zhang (De-Wen) took over the job of Director of Department of Fine Arts at National Taiwan Normal University. Mr. Zhang (De-Wen) appointed me to assist in the establishment of the association; as a result, I participated in the Wenxing Painting Society. As to joining the Calligraphers’ Association was under the invitation from my junior student at National Taiwan Normal University Professor Bing-Xing Gu. Those are the two painting organizations I’ve ever joined.
The origin of establishing the Calligraphers’ Association was a calligraphy class set up by the Taipei City government’s advocating of employee’s recreational activity, and it was a class opened for whichever colleague was interested. Moreover, Professor De-Wen Zhang, the Director of the Department of Fine Arts at National Taiwan Normal University was invited to assist and instruct. Afterward, Director Bing-Xing Gu and I joined the operation as well. Subsequently, the activity form based on the recreational type was changed, the calligraphy classes ceased. That was the motivation for establishing a Calligraphers’ Association through the collaboration of Director Gu of Department of Fine Arts at National Taiwan Normal University as well as Zhi-Qiang Ho, Shi-Pu Zhang, Fu-Xing Lian, and I.
The association has regularly held a monthly gathering and at least one annual exhibition every year. The debut exhibition took place at the Art Center of National Taiwan Normal University (9F of the General Building), and each of us had about 4 to 10 pieces of artwork exhibited in the debut. That was an exhibition with great success〜
Subsequently, the second exhibition took place with the joining of Teacher Yun-Long Hong and Professor Xiu-Xiong Chen. In 2012, a two-week exhibition was held under the invitation of Taipei Sogoart Center and named Chulinqixian Joint Exhibition that was a joint exhibition of Dean Zhong-Fu Wang, Professor Zhi-Xin Zhang and Professor Shi-Zhong Li. At a later time, we expanded the exhibition to the cultural exchange with mainland China. Then, Director Fu-Zhen Li and Teacher Song-Shou Yang joined us. Those exhibitions that took place in mainland China won great appreciation. In the same year, an exhibition scheduled in May, a joint exhibition in New York of the US coordinated by Director Gu’s wife Ms. Fei-Fei Wang was canceled due to her bad health condition. However, the joint exhibition with the participation of Ms. Su-Zhen Lin was rescheduled to the end of the same year and took place at the Library of National Taiwan Normal University.
Most of our members are retired professors, teachers and faculty members from National Taiwan Normal University and other schools. There are still others who are painters from different industries and a few members that are the partners in activities. Currently, the total number of members has reached over 20 people who are conducting different artworks in various fields and work together for crossover integration. It’s hoped that all members will be unified as one with the process of complementing and integrating for a new appearance of art. At present, we are the most exceptional art organizations in the nation.
I have ever been designated by Director Gu to act as a Chairperson for a few years and I’ve ever hosted several exhibitions in the nation and in other countries. This year, the chairperson position is handed over to Chairperson Lian, who is one of a few painters with extraordinary creativity. He has the background of being an architect, and he has been a famous painter since he was a youth. Especially, with assistance from Deputy Zhi-Qiang Ho, who is my colleague at National Taiwan Normal University, a painter of lotus flower and a person with a hard-working attitude in making a great contribution to the association. Moreover, his residence is frequently used as the place we hold our gathering. It’s hoped that they will constantly make efforts to promote the association to a better status and bring the teamwork spirit to a higher level for carrying the art situation to a higher situation.
The Calligraphers’ Association views the promotion of social art education as its primary purpose, so all advice from the art pioneers is deeply appreciated and treasured.

藝友書畫會簡介

「藝友創意書畫會」簡稱〝藝友書畫會〞,以書畫會友,廣納不同藝術領域之專家學者,彼此交流,藉以擴展並增進畫藝上的能力、知識......等等。
民國88年(西元1999年)7月15日由國立臺灣師範大學美術系所主任顧炳星教授發起組成本會―〝藝友書畫會〞。最初會友只有鄭翼翔教授、何志強老師、練福星老師、張時蒲先生共五人,成立後,會友每月聚會、品茗、小酌、談書、論畫,交換創作心得、技法、思潮新知,並做旅遊寫生,也談人生與社會思維法則與理念,幾乎無所不談。
創會顧教授係國畫大師黃君璧最得意入室弟子,其後留學西班牙及美國,為享譽國際大師級的名家,其首創分割畫面幾何圖解畫法,由靜態到動態獨步藝壇。而鄭教授任教於臺師大逾40年,桃李滿天下,為國內詩書畫三絕的代表人物,其創作不論氣韻、墨色、用筆等等功力均入化境,作品獲國際肯定。練會長係繪畫及建築雙棲名家,其作品有特殊韻味。目前本會會員除創會會員畫荷名家何志強老師及融會中西的張時蒲先生外,尚有現代彩墨洪雲龍老師及首創以〝書法文字畫〞聞名,並曾擔任系所主任、文學院長的王仲孚教授,以及剪紙手工印染專家張知新教授和中國文化大學美術系所主任、藝術理論學家李福臻教授以及遊學俄國的兩岸名畫家楊松壽老師和四君子名家林素禎女士等其後加入留日返國的文化大學環設建築知名專家何和明教授、彰化師大李適中教授、輔仁大學應用美術系簡清祈講師、臺北市立大學視覺藝術系名教授吳仁芳、文化大學史學準博士梁慧美、文化大學美術系蔡小瑛講師、台灣大學生命科學系陶錫珍教授、台北市建築師書法會劉農平會長,尚有留美博士建築師、淡江大學教授、中華科大建築系主任所長且為中華兩岸健康促進建築策進會及著名雜誌"健康與建築"發行人且為聲、光、色及心理等之健康建築環境專家的陳宗鵠理事長。至去年又加入名國畫及篆刻家周南城老師和名畫家兼手藝專家吳貴鳳老師及名畫家鄭筑華老師,目前共計已達二十三人。
畫會自民國88年(1999)於國立台灣師範大學藝術中心首展後,每年均至少展出一次。除國內聯展之外,民國97年曾應邀兩岸校際藝術文化交流與哈爾濱師大做文化交流展,並與哈師大藝術學院座談,討論海峽雙方發展方向,對提昇兩岸大學藝術教學助益良多。民國98年應邀參加紐約中華民國文化中心之展出。其後民國99年應上海世界博覽會主辦單位邀請配合世博會參加兩岸藝術聯展,參與世博盛會有其特殊時代意義。當年又參加江蘇海安文化產業博覽會交流展及次年的紹興文化藝術高峰論壇及交流展。民國101年於臺北上古藝術中心推出竹林七賢聯展,並有現場揮毫筆會,新聞媒體及網路報刊均有詳細報導,反應亦很熱烈。民國102年本會參加於江西舉行的贛台書畫交流展。民國103年,在臺北臺灣師範大學圖書館藝廊做為期14天的創會15週年展。
目前本會會員有第一任會長顧炳星教授、第二任會長鄭翼翔教授、現任會長練福星老師及會員們,均各有擅專及特質,在創作理念與技法的相互激盪下作品均有非凡的表現。
本會,以文會友,希望與藝文同好相互切磋,彼此觀摩,提昇創作理念與技法,擴展創作領域與心靈境界,敬希各界先進朋友們不吝賜教為禱。
副會長兼總幹事 何志強﹏﹏
“Calligraphers’ Art Association of Creative Calligraphy and Painting」is known as “Calligraphers’ Association” for short. It is based on a form of building friendship through calligraphy and painting, and gather professional artists and scholars from diverse areas of art to expand as well as enhance related techniques and knowledge and other relevances that master the creation of calligraphy and painting artworks by means of a mutual exchange of experiences.
On July 15th, 1999, Professor Bing-Xing Gu, the Director of the Department of Fine Arts, National Taiwan Normal University, started this organization – “Calligraphers’ Association”. At the initial funding stage, there were only five members including Professor Yi-Xiang Zheng, Teacher Zhi-qiang Ho, Teacher Fu-Xing Lian, and Mr. Shi-Pu Zhang. Since the associations' establishment, it has hosted monthly activities including gatherings, tea-drinking, wine drinking, book discussions, painting discussions, sharing of artwork creation, techniques and the new tendencies of art. In addition, programs including sketching travels and evaluation of contemporary social thinking are included as extensions.
The founder, Professor Gu, is the best disciple of the great Mater of traditional Chinese painting Jun-Bi Huang. After he studied abroad in Spain and the US, he gained great recognition as a Master of Art across the world and his unique painting skills for either the static or the dynamic vary by his creative painting skills of separated image and geometrical painting. In addition, Professor Zheng taught at National Taiwan Normal University for over 40 years, and now has pupils all over the world serving as representatives of the country's poetry, calligraphy, and paintings, covering all their artistic concepts and mediums of ink or pen; his artwork is renowned around the world for their enchanted atmosphere, ink colors and movement of strokes. Chairperson Lian has a successful career in multiple fields of painting and architecture.
At present, inaddition to one of the founders Teacher Zhi-Qiang Ho who is famous for lotus flower paintings and Mr. Shi-Pu Zhang who is renowned for bringing traditional ink painting into a new era, there are several famous artists joining the association as members including Teacher Yun-Long Hong who creates “artistic calligraphy writing” in his modern colored ink paintings; Professor Zhong-Fu Wang who has ever been the Director of Department and College of Humanities and the Arts; Professor Zhi-Xin Zhang who is an expert of paper cutting, handmade printing and dyeing; Professor Fu-Zhen Li who is the Director of Fine Arts Department of Chinese Culture University and a scholar of art theory; Teacher Song-Shou Yang who is a famous painter in both sides of the Taiwan Strait travelling and studying in Russia; Ms. Lin Su-zhen who is famous for painting Sijunzi (means four gentlemen among flowers, including plum, orchid, bamboo and chrysanthemum); Professor He He-ming of Chinese Culture University who is a famous expert of environmental architecture after he returning from studying in Japan; Professor Li Shi-zhong of National Changhua University of Education; Lecturer Jian Qing-qi of Department of Applied Arts Fu Jen Catholic University; Professor Wu Ren-fang of University of Taipei Department of Visual Arts, Ph.D. (Doctoral ) candidate;Hui-Mei Liang of the Department of History at Chinese Culture University, Professor Hsi-Chen Tao of Department of Life Science at National Taiwan University, Lecturer Xiao-Ying Tsai of Department of Fine Arts at Chinese Culture University; Chairperson of Taipei Architectures’ Calligraphy Association Non-Ping Liu and Zong-Hu Chen who got Doctor of Architecture degree in the US and has been the Professor of Tamkang University; Director of Department of Architecture and the Graduate School of Architecture at China University of Science and Technology, Chairperson of Building Environment and Health Promotion Association, Taiwan-China and Distributor and Managing Director of “Journal of Health and Architecture”.It also includes Teacher Nan-Cheng Zhou, who is a famous artist of traditional Chinese painting and seal carving; Teacher Gui-Feng Wu who is a famous painter and an expert of handicraft; and the famous painter Teacher Zhu-Hua Zheng, with a total number of members has come to 23 people.
Ever since Calligraphers’ Association hosted a debut exhibition at the Art Center of National Taiwan Normal University in 1999, there has been at least one exhibition hosted every year. In addition to the joint exhibitions inside the nation, under the interschool invitation of exchanging culture of art on both sides of the Taiwan Strait, a joint exhibition and a joint lecture with Harbin Normal University were hosted for cultural exchange in 2008; and the results of discussion over the directions of mutual development on both sides of Taiwan Strait was very beneficial to the art education of both two sides. In 2009, we were invited to join the exhibition at Taipei Cultural Center in New York. Afterward, in 2010, the organizer of the Shanghai World Expo invited us to a joint art exhibition of both sides, which proves the historical significance of the times by participating in the World Expo. In the same year, we joined the Jiangsu Haian Cultural Industry Expo and Cultural Exchange Exhibition; and one year after, we joined the Shaoxing Cultural of Art Summit Forum and Cultural Exchange Exhibition. In 2012, we launched Chulinqixian Joint Exhibition and On-Site Calligraphy Show at Taipei Sogoart Center, and the event was reported by news media as well as Internet networking in detail and won great feedback. In 2013, our association joined the Gantai Calligraphy and Painting Cultural Exchange Exhibition hosted at Jiangxi. In 2014, the 15th Anniversary Exhibition after the establishment of the association was held at the Library Gallery of National Taiwan Normal University for 14 days.
At present, our members including the 1st former Chairperson Professor Bing-Xing Gu, the 2nd former Chairperson Professor Yi-Xiang Zheng and the sitting Chairperson Teacher Fu-Xing Lian all have their professional skills and expertise. With the mutual stimulation and inspiration for creative concepts and techniques, all artworks show extraordinary performances.
Our association bases on the form of building friendship by art in the hope of learning skills from each other by the means of mutual demonstrations to advance creative concepts and techniques and expand the field of artwork and spiritual levels. All comments from the art pioneers are welcome and deeply appreciated.
